With a collective experience that spans both major content providers and industry-leading technology innovators, the team is ideally positioned to work with customers to identify needs, and to align those requirements with solutions that deliver business results.

Eric Goldstein, Head of Business Development

Eric is Firstlight’s Head of Business Development and is responsible for strategic partnerships, working closely with our technology and cloud partners to innovate and grow our collective business.

Prior to joining Firstlight, Eric held a number of roles at The Walt Disney Company, where he was instrumental in growing reach and revenue for Disney, ESPN, and ABC networks across digital platforms, connected devices, and streaming services. 

Eric also spearheaded digital business, partnerships, and product initiatives for the Emmy award-winning Disney Channel digital team. Eric holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from James Madison University.

John Ferrandino, Head of Sales

As Head of Sales for the Americas of Firstlight Media, John is responsible for the company’s revenue growth through Sales and collaboration with strategic partners. He was formerly the SVP of Sales at Amagi, a cloud playout and monetization platform, where he helped grow the business in the Americas by more than 10X during his time there.

Over his more than 20 year career, John has held senior leadership roles at Conviva, Limelight Networks, GlobalLogic and Savvis Communications (now CenturyLink).  Earlier, he held strategic roles at and Akamai.

Balbinder O’Neil, VP Solutions Engineering

As VP, Solutions Engineering at Firstlight, Balbinder is responsible for articulating and defining solutions that enable Digital Service Providers launch award-winning OTT TV platforms that delight and engage consumers, via the Firstlight platform. Before joining Firstlight, Balbinder was VP, Solutions Delivery at Evergent Technologies where she was an instrumental member of the senior leadership team responsible for the implementation and delivery of revenue management solutions.

Balbinder was also with AT&T and Quickplay for 13 years, working closely with global Tier 1operators to launch TVE and OTT services. Balbinder brings to Firstlight several years of solutions marketing, solutions delivery and product management experience.

Balbinder holds a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the University of Leicester, UK.

Naveen Narayanan, Director, Solution Engineering

Naveen is responsible for Solution Engineering at Firstlight. He also owns the technology strategy for supporting business development and strategic partnerships. Before joining Firstlight, he was leading Sales Enablement and Go-To-Market for an AI startup in Toronto.

Prior to that, Naveen was one of the founding members of Quickplay’s Product Management team and successfully managed a cross-functional team that helped scale the technology and business model for the world’s first cloud-based global enterprise video platform. Quickplay was acquired by AT&T in 2016 to help accelerate its Next Generation video strategy. At Quickplay, he was responsible for product strategy, roadmap, and delivery to support the launch of various Tier 1 video services across the world – including DirecTV Now, FoxPlay, Hooq, Telus Optik TV, and AT&T U-verse.

Naveen holds an engineering degree in Computer Science from National Institute of Technology and an MBA from Smith (Queens) School of Business, Canada.

Giles Rodriques, Associate Director of Sales

Giles is responsible for new business development growth in the Asia Pacific region based out of Sydney, Australia. Prior to Firstlight, Giles was an Account Director at Quickplay (subsequently acquired by AT&T), managing marquee customers through complex OTT transformation initiatives, starting in Toronto then relocating to Singapore to implement and manage the HOOQ account. 

Previously, Giles was a senior Account Executive at Guestlogix in Toronto where he was a key member of the leadership team. He successfully delivered a number of projects which enabled the company to grow from startup to be listed on the TSX.

Giles holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and a Master of Commerce in IT from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
